Meet the team
Yuchen Sun
Graduate student (G4)
Yuchen got her B.S. degree from Dalian University of Technology (China) in 2022 and thereafter joined Shi group as a graduate student. She is currently conducting research on the development of vibrational-imaging based single-cell technologies for phenotype profiling.
Minqian Wei
Graduate student (G3)
Minqian got a B.S. degree from Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (China) in 2017, and a M.S. degree from Duquesne University (USA) in 2018. She worked in Shanghai Seventh People's Hospital for 5 years, and joined Shi group in 2023. Her current research focuses on the development of vibrational imaging tools for tissues and single-cell metabolic analysis.
Tongqi Wang
Master student (G3)
Tongqi got her Bachelor's degree in geological engineering from Jilin University in 2022 and later joined Shi group as a master student. She is currently working on developing new hyperspectral data analysis pipelines for vibrational imaging.
Yingying Li
Graduate student (G2)
Yingying received her B.S. degree in chemical biology from Wuhan University (China) in 2024 and later joined Shi group for Ph.D. training. Her current research focuses on the development of vibrational imaging tools for pathology applications.
Xinyuan Bi
Master student (G1)
Xinyuan received her Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from Southeast University in 2025 and joined the Shi Group as a master’s student the same year. Her current research focuses on the development and application of Raman spectroscopy and microscopy to investigate liquid–liquid phase separation.
Mingyu Wang
Graduate student (G1)
Mingyu began her undergraduate studies at the School of Public Health, Lanzhou University in 2021 and later transferred to the Duiying Honors College. She joined the Shi Group in 2025. Her current research focuses on developing quantitative methods for chemical imaging and profiling.
Zihang He
Graduate student (G0)
Zihang began his undergraduate studies in 2022 at the Zhejiang University–University of Edinburgh Institute, ZJU, where he is pursuing a dual B.S. degree in Biomedical Informatics. He is expected to join the Shi Lab as a Ph.D. student in 2026. His research interests focus on developing computational algorithms for vibrational imaging to uncover novel biological insights and advance clinical applications.
Yirui Chen
Master student (G0)
Yirui began her undergraduate studies at the School of Chemistry, Beijing Normal University in 2022 and is scheduled to join the Shi Group for graduate studies in 2026. Her research interests focus on understanding interfacial water properties with Raman spectroscopy and imaging.
